  The difference between IUI and IVF is:     In IUI, fertilization takes place internally – inside the woman’s womb. That is, the sperm is injected into the woman’s uterus. After that, if fertilization is successful, the embryo implants in the uterus. What is IUI? Intrauterine Insemination ( IUI  )is a part of the first line of fertility treatment (along with ovulation induction with timed intercourse : OI-TI). In IUI, the sperms  are “washed” and concentrated and placed directly into the uterus, which puts them closer to the egg  in the fallopian tube to facilitate fertilization .  This process increases the chances of pregnancy in infertile couples who have had difficulty in having a baby naturally. IUI process involves using a male partner’s sperm or donor sperm.
